God was telling me something that day
A few days after I came from the UK, as eager and excited as I was to find myself a job, I went to my alma mater, UST. Battling the scorching heat which is summer Philippine-style I waited to see my professors who were supposed to give me recommendation letters that day. To my dismay, mali ang appointment namin kasi may meeting sila and I have to wait for two more hours. Luckily I found one professor, Mrs. Sibug who gladly entertained me. Then, she received a call asking her to come to some hospital nearby. She left me a book to read, it was some daily gospel sort of book. Uh-uh, so yeah I’m gonna read this? With the bored state I was in? So my eyeballs are about to curd milky white when I finally took a glimpse of the little book I was holding. Her pen was bookmarked on this page called persistence. From that day forward, the note I read there is going to be the motto of my life, my compass. It goes:
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not:
Nothing is more common than unsuccesful men with talent.
Genius will not:
Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not:
The world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan "Press On" has solved and always will solve
the problem of human race."
- Calvin Coolidge
will we ever be ready for the big M?
In answer to a friend’s post on his blog asking the right time to get married - my answer is people can never be 100% ready to tie the knot because it is not a question only one person can answer; not to mention people are naturally selfish and for marriage to survive it requires mostly selfless acts. It is a matter of surviving each day, either you survive each other (pathetic!) or you help each other survive each day (quite romantic). Ang masasabi ko lang sa lahat ng nagbabalak ay malaking GOOD LUCK, which i wish myself each day by the way.
Anyway kung pwedeng maging single ulit hindi ako magdadalawang isip kay Brandon Routh. As if?!!! Yes, the new superman and the yummiest guy in tinseltown (goodbye to Brad kay Angelina ka na).
My present crush actually is Wentworth Miller(Prisonbeak) and Hayden Christensen(Star Wars and Jumper). Sorry mr. superman

ok in my dreams…..whatever settled na ko sa aking hubby na kamukha ni Shane West! hehehe!
surviving my first PTC meeting!
PTC - as in Parents’ and Teachers Conference (aka PTA). Yeah, I attended the first one yesterday and I was really excited. Finally na meet ko na ang teacher ng anak ko na sinulatan ko bakit sila pinagdadala ng bag na punong puno ng books they don’t use everyday. As usual ang first impression nya sakin goes like this - "kayo naman po si Mrs. Hidalgo? ay bata pa pala kayo." whatever she means by that i take it as a compliment at least di ba hindi pa mukhang gurang ang lola nyo -este! anyway, yun na nga umattend na nga ako at ano ka naging PRO pa po at representative ng Senior Casa (my son is enrolled in a Montessori school by the way). As usual nung mangolekta ng suggestion papers ang akin po ay back to back, hehehe. anyway there goes officially mommy of a pre-schooler na me at willing to go makibaka for that gold medal. Grabe na pala ang standards ngayon ha - ang honor students should have no grades lower than 85 from the start at nakakalula ang grades na dapat i-maintain per place sa honor roll. parang sa college ba. anyway hindi naman sya nakakapressure no!kawawa naman ang baby ko stress na sa school, lalo pang stress sa mama nya!whatever!
back to pinas
Well. what can I say I’m finally back…
After three months I’ve finally gathered my mind and my will to officialize my return by posting it on my blog. Bakit nga ba ngayon lang? Well, it’s not like ayaw ko ng umuwi no when in fact i missed everyone (my nakaka-highblood na asawa, malokong kapatid, mga pisan in-laws at friends, pati ang aso kong askal) and everything (pirated cds, SM - why not?, quiapo at divisoria, mga isaw sa kanto at bananaque). Generally speaking, I’m happy to be back. Although there are a lot of things I missed back in UK. My mom and sis, ang lamig na dati kaaway ko talaga, syempre ang mga naging friends ko dun na patuloy pa rin ang pagtawag sa akin, ang dami ko pang di napasyalan kainis!Hirap pa maghanap trabaho dito!what with the government freezing employment? hello!!!taas na po ng unemployment natin at napakadami pang graduates each year and what the hell are you trying to do banning employment??? Trying to kill us double dead? When I was still abroad I miss and remember EDSA as booming with life and lights, now I’m back all I can see are cold stones of modern buildings that spell out exclusiveness in every manner. As though I have no oppurtunity here. Tama bang ma depress maybe I should go talk to a shrink? Meron ba nun dito? Hay naku back to Pinas na nga ako, where you can eat fruits fresh from trees, fish fresh from seas, baboy fresh pagkakatay, but with the most bulok government system in the world where the old sharks feed with neverending gluttony.
